Marjorie Irene Doty passed away peacefully on November 15, 2019 at the Linden in Danvers. "Midge" was born on October 7, 1922, in Medford Massachusetts the daughter of Chester and Bessie (Patterson) Landers. She was a graduate of Malden High School and held a masters degree in business from Northeastern University. Midge worked for Hood for many years and then for New England Telephone as an accounting manager. Midge and her late ex-husband Douglas I. Doty were parents to Douglas P. and Ronald C. Doty. She was a well dressed, strong-willed woman who enjoyed traveling to Canada and Florida. She had an old farmhouse in New Hampshire with a “magic closet” that left toys magically for her grandchildren. Upon retirement, she began wintering in Florida and enjoyed visits from her family. Marjorie is survived by her son Douglas P. Doty and wife Sandi, granddaughter Caryn and husband Gregg Quimby, grandson Bryan and wife Penny Doty, granddaughter Andrea Doty, great-grandchildren Kyle, Alicia, Amanda, Mike, Marcus, Krysta, and Alexiah. She is also survived by her brother Bob and his wife Jean Landers and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ronald C. Doty and her siblings and their spouses Eleanor and Warner Carter, Chet and Lois Landers, and Roger and Caroline Landers. She was also predeceased by her companions Walter Burke, Thomas Barnett and Henry McGuire. A celebration of life visitation will be held for Marjorie on Wednesday evening from 5pm-7pm at the Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St., Rt. 114, Middleton, MA.
