Curtis A. Kimball Jr., 67, of Danvers, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, surrounded by his family after a hard-fought, two year battle with lung cancer.

Curtis was the husband of Janet (Raimo) Kimball with whom he shared almost 50 years of life, laughter and love. Born and raised in Lynn MA, Curtis was the son of the late Dorothy (Owens) (Kimball) McManus and the late Curtis Kimball Sr. He and Janet moved the family to Danvers in 1983.

Curtis dedicated 45 years of his life to his job to support his family and fulfill his dream of providing educational opportunities for his children. Curtis retired at the age of 60, allowing him to focus his time and energy on the people and things that made him happy.

Beyond being a loving husband, Curtis was a wonderful father to his sons, an even better grandfather who doted on his grandkids, and a generous and loyal friend who would always help when called upon. He had the ability to connect with anyone - it only took a few moments before he became a beloved friend to all those who surrounded him.

Curtis loved gardening and took pride in caring for his yard and house because he believed in making it a home, a place of welcome for family and friends. Nothing made him happier than having people visit and spend quality time together.

He is missed and remembered by so many including his caring wife Janet, sons Curtis and David, daughter-in-laws (though he saw them as true daughters) Audrey and Lauren, grandchildren (his pride and joy), Mia, Curtis IV, Samantha and Tucker, his loving sister Debbie Bonaventura (and husband Richie), Godson Dean Pawlowski (and family), as well as all of his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Mackey Funeral home located on 28 S Main St, Middleton, MA. Visiting hours will start at 9:30am and a brief memorial service will start promptly at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Curtis to support cancer research and patient care at: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284, or via ONLINE CONDOLENCES:

What a great picture of a guy I knew since I was a small child. I used to visit his mother & she made me scrambled eggs. Curtis was ďa cool dudeĒ before the phrase was invented. He never treated me like a child~ Little did I know, I would later meet Janet Raimo in Jr. High School & become fast friends. When she & Curtis connected, it was amazing! The rest is a history of love.... My heart is heavy for you, Janet & your combined extended families. His soul is soaring & his stories are entertaining those who awaited his arrival.
