Obituary:

Norman M. Michaud, 88, of Brooksby Village in Peabody passed away on July 5, 2019 after a long battle with Lewy Body Disease. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Charles and Aurelie (Morneau) Michaud. He attended St. Joseph Academy in Salem and Burdett College. He had a long career in accounting and financial management, working for various local companies, including as town accountant in Danvers, and for many years as Chief Financial Officer of Statler Industries in Medford. He was an active member of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Danvers, where he participated in religious education and community outreach programs.

Norman and his wife of 61 years, Ann (Andrews), resided in Danvers for over 40 years where they raised their four children: Daniel N. Michaud (deceased), David C. Michaud of Reading, MA, Paul M. Michaud of Salem, MA, and Susan M. Michaud of Newton, MA. Norman was predeceased by his siblings: Gerard Michaud, Lucille Lussier, Gilbert Michaud, and Gilberte Henderson. Family also includes his much loved grandchildren: Sabine E. Michaud, daughter of David and Whitney Perkins, and Alex and Daniel Brady, sons of Susan and Bob Brady; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Norman was devoted to his family and enjoyed any opportunity to spend time together. We remember him as a source of strength and guidance. He always knew when a touch of levity was called for and delighted in teasing the kids, reminiscing about the good old days, and laughing at the same old jokes. Always diligent and dutiful, he taught life’s most important lessons by loving and respecting others, taking responsibility, and playing by the rules. He will be greatly missed.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, July 12, 2019, between 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm at Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main Street, Middleton, MA 01949. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant Street, Danvers, MA.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047, or to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
