Obituary:

Daniel (“Danny”) Joseph Maguire, 74, of Middleton, Massachusetts left this world on 24 May, 2019 to be with his Lord and Savior. He lost his earthly battle with cancer at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, Massachusetts. A celebration of his life service will be held at Mackey Funeral Home of Middleton, Massachusetts Wednesday May 29 from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Danny, was born 30 August, 1944 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Josephine and James Maguire. He attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School and served in the United States Army, with the field artillery, from 1961 to 1964. Upon returning to the United States from Germany in 1964 he met his future wife Barbara Swales, whom he married in 1967. Danny and Barbara had three children Daniel, Brian and Susan. Danny was a dedicated and loving father and husband, often working more than one job and yet finding time for riding his motorcycle, family camping expeditions, friendly games of chess and penny ante poker. He was an avid bowler and spent many hours with his children and siblings bowling. Danny retired from the Prudential Insurance Company in 1994 after a long career. His life was all about family and God. He was preceded in death by his mother Josephine, father James, sister Beverly, and brothers Frank and William. Danny is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, son Daniel Maguire Jr. and his children Sara, CJ and Daniel J III, Brian Maguire and his wife Dawn Baldwin Maguire and their son Zachary, daughter Susan Goguen, her husband Andrew Goguen, their children AJ, Amanda and Joshua and siblings Jim, Patricia, Tommy, Theresa, Gerry, Mary Jo and Vinnie. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers Massachusetts.

At times like this can be hard. My condolences go out to the family. I didn’t know him personally. I am very close friend of Zachary Baldwin and the stories I’ve heard about him described him as a great and loved man. I lost both of my parents as baby I know the empties of what it can contribute to. Now matter what he will never be forgotten and will continue to live on through each and everyone of you.
