Paulette Flait Straub, M. Ed, EDD, passed quietly away at Massachusetts General Hospital on October 11th, 2018. Paulette Straub was born to Herman Flait and Elizabeth Frances Goslin August 20th, 1942 in Willington, Delaware; New Castle County. Following high school graduation, she attended Upsala College, Columbia University and Tufts University where she received, a masterís degree in educational psychology. Paulette married William Park Straub on May 1st, 1965 and moved to a farm in Boxford, Massachusetts; where she had 3 daughters Kirsten, Renee, and Erika. During the early years of marriage, Paulette was introduced to horses by her husband who also had a passion for riding. Paulette grew and advanced her level of riding from Combined Training Eventing, 100-mile Trail riding in Vermont, to Grand Prix level of Dressage. As life moved on for Paulette her love for all animals grew, she was best known for rescuing unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals. Though out her life she has maintained her love and caring for all animals and her beloved Diamond Brook Farm. She is survived by her 3 daughters and their spouses, Kirsten Flait Orender and Jeffrey Orender of Byfield, Renee Park Cooper and Ronald Cooper of Boxford and Erika Adams Straub also residing in Boxford, and her 5 Grandchildren Brett Warren Straub, Jonathan Park Cooper, Samuel William Orender, Andrew Francis Cooper, and Victoria Elizabeth Orender. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life visitation on Friday, Oct, 19th from 4pm-7pm at the Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St., Rt.114, Middleton, MA.
