Artie Mihelis of Peabody passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 16, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Lorraine (Fernandes) Mihelis with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, Mass, he was the son of George and Bessie (Antonopoulos) Mihelis. He attended Peabody Schools and spent his life in Peabody, MA. For 25 years, Artie was the proud owner of “Artie’s Place” in Peabody, where he treated employees and customers like family. Prior to this, Artie owned his own canteen truck business. He was an avid hunter and longtime member of Danvers Fish and Game. He also enjoyed boating and riding his Harley Davidson. Artie was happiest when spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Artie is survived by his two children; Kelly Mihelis Siracuse and her husband Mark Siracuse of Lynn, Brian Mihelis and his wife Taylor Eremian Mihelis of Wenham. Artie was blessed to have 6 grandchildren, Jacen Mihelis, Brielle Mihelis, Jared Fossa, Samantha Fossa, Tayla Siracuse Tolosa and husband Gonzalo Tolosa, and Alexis Siracuse. Siblings; brother Nick Mihelis and wife Linda Mihelis of Salisbury, sister Kathy Mihelis Dunne and husband Edward Dunne of Franklin, and late brother William Mihelis. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Thinking of you all during your time of loss. Artie will forever be part of South Peabody and a huge part of our children’s childhood. Going to Artie’s was a treat and we were always welcomed with warmth and a smile. Sending much love and comfort, The Avila’s.
My husband and I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Artie's family. May he rest in peace. John and I met him at Artie's place. We looked forward to seeing him on the end stool at the counter. My grandchildren attended the school next door and looked forward to going to Artie's at Halloween in their costumes. He will be in our prayers. Roz and John Tryder.
