To my Grammy B, It is incredible how much the feeling of "love" has been so well defined by your personality, your care, and embrace in life. As your step-grandchild, you brought me and my family into such a welcoming and warming group, the Barkowskis, who I cherish so deeply as my own blood. All your laughter, your smiles, your amazing parties, and presence as a whole brought joy to so many people. I learned so much from you, and you were involved in my life at every possible moment which meant the world to me. My future wife and I hope to honor your spirit through demonstrating the same pride, focus, and strength in the ties of family. I love you Grammy. I'm so happy for the peace you now have. Thinking of you always, David Knight & Mariah Scanlon

Nothing warmed my heart more than hearing "Hi, Celeste!" with sincere enthusiasm every time I walked in your kitchen door. (I can still hear it just thinking about it ❤️) Whether it was two months, two weeks, or even two hours, you always made me feel welcome in your home. I happily helped clean the kitchen, vacuumed, or got the screenhouse ready for guests. Every day was a party for you! You loved life like no one I ever knew. One of my very favorite memories is when "Oh Babe, What Would You Say" by Hurricane Smith would play on the radio. You'd turn it up and dance around the kitchen, and I'd often join you. I see your big smile, I feel your free and happy spirit. It's another precious memory that no one can take away from me. Goodbye for now, Dot. See you soon.
