Jillian Maura Slatas passed from this world at her home on Nov 12, 2017. She was born Aug 20, 1991 in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Jillian was a graduate of Bentley University in 2013, soon after graduation she decided nursing was her calling and was in the process of completing her pre-requisite studies at Cape Cod Community College for her nursing degree. She once said she had the ability to look into others souls and feel their pain and thus the calling to heal and save others. This she accomplished in many ways throughout her life. Her sweet joyful spirit and large empathetic heart is unmatched. Jillian's grace and energy lit up the room, her smile so bright warmed people's hearts. Jillian's uncanny ability to make one feel special and loved will leave an everlasting impact etched within their hearts forever. She was our living angel.

Survivors include her cherished mother, Christine E. Lahiff of Topsfield, Mass, her adored and loving father Alan Slatas of NYC, New York and her soul mate, sister and twin flame Devin Slatas of Santa Monica, California. Also survived by her loving grandmother Edna Lahiff of Arlington, Massachusetts and grandparents Arlene and Bernie Slatas of Boca Raton, Florida. She was predeceased by her dear “Papa” John M. Lahiff of Arlington. Lovingly remembered and missed by her dear Aunts, Uncles and sweet cousins.

"In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jillian Slatas name to Boston Medical Center, Grayken Center for Addiction Medicine, c/o Development Office, 801 Massachusetts Avenue 1st Floor, Boston, MA 02118."

Dear Chris, Thinking of you with Sympathy and hoping all your great memories will help you thru. So sorry for your loss, Sandy B.
Hello to all the family. Jillian was my first sponsor in NA. She taught me to be strong. She taught to be brave. She helped me to stay clean and learn the steps the NA way for the first year of my recovery. Jill always knew what to say when I was struggling. I loved her and respected her so much and i ALWAYS will. She taught me how to be a good sponsor to other women and I will forever hold her in my heart. I am so sorry and I send all my love to you. Jill meant so much to me. You are all in my prayers. Love always, MaryBeth B.
I will never forget the first time I met Jillian. She was about 3 years old when Alan brought the most beautiful curly-haired child to our house. We were still in the process of building on Vera Road and Jillian was exploring while we talked to Alan. Suddenly, Jillian told Alan she needed to "go" so Alan took her home. A short while later, I found a "present" that Jillian had left in one of our bathrooms where the toilet had not yet been hooked up! I was so very fortunate to watch her grow into an amazing young woman. Chris, Alan and Devin - words cannot convey my sorrow for your loss. Chris, Hannah & Jack Lindberg

Dear Devin, Chris and Alan, I was Jill and Devin's high school art teacher at Masconomet and my daughter Sarah graduated from Masco with Jill in 2009. Your daughters and I shared a lot during our time in class together as well as our love for Martha's Vineyard where we both had homes and history. I cannot tell you how heavy my heart is with your loss. Jill had such an open heart. I lost my sister unexpectedly at a young age and it was devastating for all of us. We ultimately learned that my sister had had a profound impact on the lives of so many others (like Jill) and this helped us through a lot of very dark days that followed her death. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.... Terry Meinelt
Chris, Alan, Devin, and the rest of the Slatas clan: I'm sorry doesn't even begin to cut it.... I'm absolutely speechless. I had the pleasure of spending every waking moment of my year and a half at Bentley (and then some) with Jillybeans. Our long car rides to nowhere, the endless scheming, the yoga classes, Bruins games, concerts in ridiculous outfits, the list goes on forever. But every decision, good and bad, was made with Jillian by my side, and I will forever be grateful to her for the loyalty, love, and endless joy she brought to my life. Jill was an unbelievable friend. She had the most contagious laugh, the most beautiful smile, and could convince me anything was an incredible idea with the look in her eyes. But her determination and perseverance was unmatched; she was a fighter at heart. It is with the heaviest heart that I send my deepest condolences; she deserved to win this fight. Sending your family all my love and prayers. - Irene Pasquale

Dear Chris - I've been thinking of you and of Jillian ever since learning the sad news of her passing. I remember what a beautiful and poised young woman she was when she would sometimes come in to our offices at Bentley, when you worked here and she was a student. The moving words about her at this site illustrate that she was just as beautiful on the inside. If only there was a way to go back in time to save her. May you find some measure of comfort in the very difficult days ahead from the love and support of your family and friends. Sending warm wishes and prayers your way...... Emily R.

Dear Jillian’s family, Jilly & I had a date to go to lunch however our date never came. I worked with this beautiful child of yours and I as well as anyone who met her absolutely loved her!! My tears are immense and my heart is so very heavy, with her passing. She always said she had “bad luck with cars” and her Dad “knew” this but that he always helped her figure out transportation! She had us all laughing and our days were lighter when she was on shift!! We are truly missing an Jillian Angel 😇 here on Earth and I mean that from the bottom of my heart❤️. God Bless all of you, her loved ones in the time ahead.

Dear Chris and family, Our hearts are broken to hear about Jill. We were so fortunate to see her in September with so many of her Masco friends and we will always treasure those memories. One of my favorite memories of Jill was when she was an intern in my preschool class when she was in Masco and the children adored her because she was always so happy, smiling, and so easy-going. Jill was truly beautiful inside and out. Debbie Connery (& Joe, Matt, Steph, Molly and Brian)
