Laurie Jackson, 37, of Beverly and Salem passed away surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. She is survived by her parents, Dennis and Karin Jackson, of Middleton, her sister, brother-in-law, and niece, Kristin, Bryan, and Paige Roda of Swampscott, her loving grandfather, Roy Pearson, of Peabody, and several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as Bob and Sally Roda of Framingham, extended family members. Laurie was a graduate of Beverly High School, Salem State University, and John Marshall Law School in Chicago where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. Upon graduation from John Marshall, Laurie was admitted to the bar in both Illinois and Massachusetts. Laurie was the executive assistant to the Chairman and CEO at GreenLight Biosciences in Medford. Laurie was an avid soccer and tennis fan and looked forward to her annual trips to Forest Hills for the US Open. She enjoyed travel, particularly to Europe, where she indulged in her hobby of architectural photography. A private memorial service will be held on Friday, January 6. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Laurie’s memory to the Lustgarten Foundation to support its initiatives to eliminate Pancreatic Cancer.

I am so sorry for your loss. Laurie's smile was contagious, as was her laugh. I appreciate the time I had working with her and wish that we had gone out more. She is even more an angel now and will be watching over you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked closely with her for a year at GID and will remember her most for her joyful love of her niece, Paige. She would light up talking about her and couldn't wait to share a new picture. She was a great co-worker and friend and will be deeply missed. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. Sincerely, Mike P.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family; I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was shocked to find out about her illness, and then so soon after her passing. I worked with Laurie at GreenLight in the past and enjoyed chatting with her at the company's almost weekly happy hours (which she was usually game to get going with me if others were slow to begin). We also shared a common support for Arsenal FC and I was happy just to have another soccer fan around the office; she probably felt the same. I am, again, very saddened by your loss. Jenn Gosselin
I couldn't be more sorry to hear the news of your heart breaking loss. It has been years since we have connected but my thoughts are with you. Stefani Waterman

I am so sorry for your loss. Laurie was an amazing woman. I greatly admired her strength of character. She inspired me through her confidence and I've tried to emulate her in my daily life. I know I have become a better person by knowing her. My heart goes out to her family. She spoke of you often and with love. She will be truly missed, by many people.
Hillary shared the tragic news and I want to say how deeply sorry I am. It was so unexpected, which makes it even harder on those of us who share your grief. I hope that the outpouring of sympathy you are receiving is some consolation at this very sad time as it was for me and my family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. If you need to ever talk I am here always. Pam Mobry (Dyke)
