Timothy R. Leary, aged 83, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA after a courageous battle with cancer. Born to James and Anna (Barter) Leary in East Boston, MA, Tim grew up in Winthrop, MA, graduating from Winthrop High School and serving in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Tim was a 58-year member of Local 103 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was a lifetime member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks. Tim leaves his wife of 59 years, Sally (Lappen) Leary. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Johnson of Salem, sons Timothy Leary Jr. and his wife, Kathleen of Danvers, and Steven Leary and his partner, Jessica Pearson, of Ipswich and former wife Suzanne Ciccarelli of Topsfield. Tim leaves his five beautiful grandchildren: Erin Johnson, Amber Leary, Carter Leary, Tucker Leary, and Ryan Leary, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Tim was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Driscoll, two brothers, William and James, and son-in-law Glen Johnson. Tim was proud of his Irish heritage and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He and Sally lived in West Peabody for 55 years. Not a day would go by that Tim wasnít seen working in his immaculate yard.
