Susan Greene Steinbauer, 64, died peacefully at her home in Woburn, MA on April 15, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. A Registered Nurse at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA for more than 30 years, she was named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women in 2010; received the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses in 2011; and was recognized in March 2016 for her 30 years of service at Lahey Hospital . She was a 1973 graduate of Lawrence Memorial Hospital Nursing Program in Medford, MA.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late John Sanford and Olive (Lindberg) Greene of Warwick, RI and sister of the late Jeffrey Lincoln Greene. She was the widow of Edward T. Steinbauer of East Hampstead, NH. She is survived by her daughter Johanna Steinbauer of Woburn, MA; stepdaughter Julie (Steinbauer) Lamkin of North Andover, MA; and siblings Janice (Greene) O’Donnell of Barrington, RI; Joanne (Greene) Zannella of Saunderstown, RI; and John Sanford Greene of Arvada, CO.

Calling hours will be held at Mackey Funeral Home in Middleton, MA on Sunday, April 24 from 11 AM to 2 PM; followed by a memorial service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Susan Greene Steinbauer may be made to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center :
