Donald Richard Pierce, 89
Donald Richard Pierce, 89, husband of the late Carol Ann (Vye) Pierce of Danvers with whom he shared 51 years of marriage, died Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Beverly Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Thomas and Alice (McDonald) Pierce. Don was a graduate of the Holten Richmond High School and Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. Don spent over thirty-five
years working at State Street Bank and Trust, where he made lifelong friends. Later working, for many years, with Mackey Funeral Home.
Don was a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, a member and four-year officer of the Mr. and Mrs. Couples Club, as well as being very involved in Danvers Youth Football where he served as President of the league. Don enjoyed traveling up and down the East Coast with Carol and continued yearly trips with his children and grandchildren until his passing. Don loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Don is survived by his children and their families, Stephanie and James Hosman (Catherine, Patrick, and Luke (Audrey) Hosman; Kimberly and David Terenzoni (Joshua (Alexandra) and David Jacob (Hannah) Terenzoni, and Samantha (Michael) Morrison; Todd and Shelby Pierce (Kylie, Zachary and Madelyn Pierce and Gabrielle Wickeri); Timothy and Maryanne Pierce (Seth (Robin) and Brian Pierce and Courtney (Mitchel) Tanja). Papa is also survived by his great grandchildren, Ava, Luna, Ronin, Ryder and Christian. In addition to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Don is survived by his siblings Thomas (Ruthann) Pierce, Carol (Alan) Gault and Margaret Savory and many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his godson, Alan “Butch” Gault.
Don was predeceased by his wife, Carol Ann and their son, Brian D. Pierce.
