Carl R. Peterson of Middleton, age 88, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2017
following a brief illness surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April, 20 1929 in
A lifelong Middleton resident, Carl was a line foreman at the Middleton
Electric Light Department, later retiring as manager after over 30 years of service. He was
a past president of the Middleton Board of Trade. Carl was also a dedicated Free Mason.
After his retirement he enjoyed spending time at his camp in Maine and later on traveling
cross-country in his motor home with his beloved wife, Charlene. A lover of nature, he
spent his leisure time camping in the white mountains with his family, hunting, fishing,
skiing, and golfing. He was an avid card player with his many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene; his children, Margaret and her husband
John Halpin of Florida, Patricia and her husband Douglas Freeman of Nevada, Heidi and
her husband Daniel Leveillee of Tennessee, Mark Quimby of Newton NH, Scott and his
wife Susan Quimby of Middleton MA, and Gregg and his wife Caryn Quimby of Middleton
MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Erick Halpin, Holli Owen, Brett Quimby,
Michaela Quimby, Kyle Quimby, Alicia Quimby, Amanda Quimby, Jack Quimby, and
Aimee Quimby as well as three great-grandchildren Hayden Owen, Ellowyn Owen, Willow
Halpin. Carl also leaves behind many friends from Alamo, Texas and Estero, Florida
where he and his wife spent their winters.

He loved life and God blessed him with 88 amazing years which allowed him to make so many memories with all of you. |I am so sorry to learn of Carl's passing. I have fond childhood memories of Carl and Charlene taking Heidi and me out on their boat and to the YMCA for family swim. I am thankful that I knew him. Sending love and prayers...
