Margaret "Peg" Maganas, 97, of Danvers, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice on May 23, 2016. She was the wife of the late George J. Maganas who passed in 1983. Peg met George at a dance in Salem, Mass.; their eyes met across the room and the rest was history.
Born on August 22, 1918, in Lynn, Mass., Peg graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1935. Prior to her marriage to George, Peg worked for the Telephone Co. in Chelsea, Mass. In 1948, she moved to Danvers and made it her home.
Peg leaves two daughters, Valerie Lockhart and her husband, James, and Jane Santorella and her husband, Tony, with whom she resided. She was the loving grandmother of seven: Jessica Sauchuk of California, Tony Santorella of Washington, D.C., Daniel Santorella of Burlington, Matthew Stone of New Hampshire, Jameson Lockhart of Rowley, Kalee Stockbridge of Wenham and Melanie Lockhart of Danvers. She also leaves four great-grandchildren, Jack and Georgia Stone and Claire and James Stockbridge. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Kane) Flannelly and sister of the late Mary, Jack and Larry.
