Obit : James William McGinley, 31, a resident of Tewksbury (formerly Danvers) passed away early on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 following a three-year battle with colon cancer. Born on May 20, 1984, he was the loving husband of Kelly (Head) McGinley of Tewksbury (formerly Dedham) and son of Patrick and Patricia (Kovacs) McGinley of Danvers. He was raised and educated in Danvers, and was a graduate of Danvers High School, class of 2002. Jim went on to graduate with a Masters Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Jim was employed by Raytheon in Andover, MA as a program manager. Through the years, Jim was a member of many sports teams including Danvers High School Varsity Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse as well as collegiate Lacrosse at WPI. Jim was a fan of all Boston sports and was able to enjoy championships from the Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots in his lifetime. Jim was an avid traveler and enjoyed seeing new places all around the world. He and his wife Kelly enjoyed many adventures, visiting places like Australia, Europe, Egypt, Hawaii, Jamaica, Costa Rica, and many more. Although Jim enjoyed many wonderful experiences, what his family and friends will remember most about him is his constant smile, outstanding character and one of a kind personality. Jim was incredibly intelligent, caring, and generous. He had a way of drawing in everyone around him and making them feel like old friends. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family. In addition to his wife and parents he leaves behind his brother John McGinley and wife Erin of Danvers, his grandmother Virginia McGinley and partner Sonny West of Bethlehem, PA, as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Jim was one of the kindest people I've ever known. He was always willing to lend a helpful hand. I know that words most likely cannot console right now, but the memories might help. I’ll remember the fun times we had in college (even cleaning that apartment when he first moved in), doing the Budweiser tasting tour at Sea World, having “picnics” off the boat in the middle of the lake in Vermont, and letting him be captain because I was too afraid to park in the boat lift. My thoughts are with all of you right now. - Ronja Stavrou
