Obituary:

Janice M. Flanders of Peabody MA went home to be with the Lord peacefully on March 17th, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Jan was born in Lynn and attended Pickering Jr. High and Lynn English High School.

She enjoyed country music, played guitar and participated as vocalist in many country bands.

During her early years of marriage, Jan and her husband Bob hiked the trails of New Hampshire and appreciated the wildlife.

Jan loved planning luncheons with her daughter Cathy for her church family, close friends and sister Eileen.

She was a member of New England Christian Church where her desire was always to spread the gospel, worship her Lord and fellowship with her friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her dear friend, Diane Thistle, for her love and care toward Jan during her time of need.

Jan touched the lives of many with her love, laughter and sense of humor. She will forever be remembered in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband Robert Flanders, sister Eileen Morris, daughters Priscilla Spain, Cathleen Reed and husband Ed Reed, granddaughter Kelsi Haner and great-grandson Jaxon Fried and preceded by her son Ronald Haner.

There will be a celebration of life service held on Saturday March 21st at 2:30 P.M at the Mackey Funeral Home in Middleton for close friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Jan may be made to The Kaplan Hospice House and or New England Christian Church.

The world has lost a beautiful human being. Jan had a tremendous influence on my life while growing up. My heart is filled with sadness. She was a caring radiant and loving soul. During my teenage years she was a person I always felt I could talk to. No matter what my problems were. She always made me feel better. Her loving energy will be missed by all.
Dear Cathy and Ed, Please know that we are so sorry for your lose and our hearts go out to you both. The lose of a parent leaves such a big void in ones life and makes this a very difficult thing to deal with. Mom will be greatly missed. Hopefully, the wonderful memories that you and Mom have spent a lifetime building will soon ease the pain and sorrow you feel now. We are always here for you, should you need a shoulder to lean on or someone to talk to. Mom is in our thoughts and in our prayers as are you. May God keep her close and grant her eternal life. With deepest Sympathies and Love, Sharon,Rick and Craig.
