Mary A. Jesi, 88, of Middleton, formerly of Malden, passed away peacefully surround by her children and sister on February 28, 2015, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a short illness. Born in Whalen, West Virginia, raised in the North End of Boston, Mary had been a longtime resident of Malden prior to moving to Middleton. Mary retired from the city of Malden were she managed the Malden High Cafeteria for 26 years. She cherished family gatherings and entertaining in her home. Mary enjoyed crossword puzzles and TV game shows. A devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Friend; Mary was the wife of the late Pasquale “Tony” Jesi and is survived by her six children, Ann Marie Doherty and her husband, Charles, of Middleton, Stephen Jesi and his wife, Barbara, of Middleton, Michele Magner and her husband, Phil, of Middleton, Michael Jesi and his wife, Judy, of Middleton, Anthony Jesi and his wife, Kim, of Peabody, and John Jesi and his wife, Debbie, of Middleton; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also a devoted sister to Grace Cavalieri, Virginia Welch, and Rose Romano; her brothers, James Cavalieri, Tony Cavalieri, and Pat Cavalieri. Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 5 at 8 a.m. from the Mackey Funeral Home 128 S. Main St. Middleton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Saint Agnes Church, 22 Boston St., Middleton. Interment will follow in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody. Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 4 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923

I remember Mary when I was a student at Malden High School working for Athletics (1970-1973). She worked out of Mr. Edwards Office for the Malden Public Schools Food Service. She was the most pleasant spoken person, had the most infectious smile and never had a bad word about anyone. I feel I was fortunate to have know Mary. There is another Angel in heaven.
